The Boar Clay Shooting Ground is situated near Crowden in the heart of the Dark Peak, close to the A628 Woodhead Pass, and approximately 4 miles from Glossop in Derbyshire. A long established ground, The Boar offers a variety of clay target shooting disciplines, English Sporting, English Skeet, DTL (Down The Line), Compak Sporting and Flush for the Game enthusiast. We also have rifle and air gun ranges.

 

Individual, group and corporate bookings are welcome and we can accommodate for non-license holders on the shooting ground. Tuition is also available to newcomers to the sport, where we can supply guns, safety glasses and hearing protection. We suggest wearing head protection of some description, as broken fragments of clays can cause injury. Also please be aware that the weather conditions can change very quickly in the area, so we recommend bringing weatherproof clothing and sturdy footwear. We can cater for parties, birthdays, celebrations and we offer an introduction shooting package, which includes, clays, cartridges, gun hire and tuition.

 

Tea, coffee, cold drinks, snacks, hot sandwiches and toilet facilities are available throughout the day.

 

Although the shooting ground is situated about half a mile from the main road, access is via a well maintained, gravel type surface which is suitable for most vehicles.
